Located in the lush Sarapiqui Rainforest, the Centro Neotropico Sarapiquis is an unique eco-lodge, dedicated to education in sustainable tourism and scientific research. Inspired by the indigenous pre-Columbian construction techniques of the region, the architecture of the CNS Eco-lodge comprises round palenques (or ranchos), covered with a traditional thatched roof of palm leaves. This center has the largest on-site museum of rainforest ecology and indigenous and pre-Hispanic history in Central America. At the Centro Neotropico Sarapiquis you will also enjoy the beautiful botanical garden, designed to reflect the richness of the rainforest. The Tirimbina Reserve, to which the center is connected by a 260 m long suspension bridge, is one of the last remaining areas of mid-elevation, pre-montane rainforest in the North-East of Costa Rica.
The main central building of the CNS Eco-Lodge features a restaurant, lobby, coffee gourmet, bar, photo gallery, conference room and gift shop. The other three structures are guest units of 8 spacious deluxe rooms (a total of 24 Deluxe rooms) located amidst lush gardens and orchards, in addition to 12 Standard rooms in the Ulima building. These accommodations are all decorated in relaxing and harmonious earth tones and natural limestone, featuring antique or artisan-made furniture, comfortable beds, private bathroom, ceiling fans and cross-ventilation system, phone and Internet connection.
